Health Problems

Existing Occupant Health Problems

Some client health problems can be exacerbated by weatherization activities. For example:
  • Some clients are sensitive to dust generated by the installation of cellulose insulation.
  • The use of blower doors could aggravate certain health problems.
Grantees should establish procedures to:
  • Identify preexisting health conditions (e.g., allergies)
  • Address such problems when they are found
  • Identify steps to ensure that weatherization work will not worsen these problems.
