New Information Regarding STRIPES and FedConnect Transition

The Department of Energy will implement the Strategic Integrated Procurement Enterprise System (STRIPES) during fiscal years 2008 and 2009. As a result, the Department will begin using FedConnect, which is hosted by Compusearch, as the communications portal for its potential and actual contractor and financial assistance recipient communities beginning in March 2008.

FedConnect will replace the Department's current Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS). In order to do business with the Department, all current and potential acquisition and financial assistance awardees must be registered with Compusearch's FedConnect portal.

To learn more, please refer to the attached memo or you may reference the official how to guide for using FedConnect.

Formula Grants Roll Forward

The exemption previously used to roll forward (or deobligate and reobligate the WAP formula grant prior year authorizations) is no longer available. All prior year funds must now be deobligated and approved for reobligation by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) before the funds can be returned to the States.

EERE has been working with the DOE Chief Financial Officer and the Project Management Center to map an approach which will accelerate this process. Current actions to facilitate the process can be found on the attached fact sheet.

Quantity Quotes from ENERGY STAR

Formerly known as the ENERGY STAR Online Bulk Purchasing Tool, ENERGY STAR Quantity Quotes was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to make it easy for corporate, government, and other institutional purchasers to get competitive quotes on large quantities of ENERGY STAR qualified products such as refrigerators, light fixtures and room air conditioners.
